And I have mentioned most of this to Mozy. Very annoying and potentially disrupting to my files. I have tried to open thunderbird or my palm desktop only to discover that the backup job was running at 7:14 and the files were locked. Of course no one starts their job at 7:11, or 7:22, so Mozy decided to randomize your start time so that your job starts + or - 20 minutes. Some versions ago, your job would start at 7:30. Let's say you configure your backup to start at 7:30PM. One should note that Mozy does a staggered start time for your backups. I would like a better way to know the backup is running instead of the tray icon slowing changing colors.Ĥ. If you don't close outlook or thunderbird, the files don't get backed up even though I have the Volume Shadow Copy service to Automatic which should allow for the backup to work.ģ. It took 9 hours, 40 minutes, and 42 seconds. Last night 155 files were encoded to be sent and it was a 3GB transfer. So, instead of a 20 or 50 MB to backup, I end up with a 3GB upload.

Is it them or Microsoft Outlook 2003 that causes them to think my 2 Archive files and the outlook.pst file now need to be tagged as 'must be backed up' even though I haven't added any messages to them (the archives, that is). But I do have a couple of nits to pick with them.ġ. Generally speaking I have no big problem with them. I've been using Mozy Home for a few years.
